Scope and Contents From the Collection: The collection primarily consist of letters and telegrams exchanged between Dr. Burt Brown Barker and President Herbert Hoover, who had been childhood friends in Salem, Oregon. The letters begin during World War I, when Hoover headed the Commission for Relief in Belgium. Also housed in the collection are: a 1915 publication about the Commission for Relief in Belgium; invitations for Hoover-related events sent to Barker; a post-inauguration parade invitation sent to Leonebel Jacobs and a 1953...

Scope and Content Note From the Collection: The collection consists principally of the typescript (with corrections in hand) of Horner's work, Wallowa River and Valley, dealing with regional history, as well as the Nez Percé Tribe. Other papers include correspondence (ca. 1889-1985); legal documents (1898-1931); patents for window construction (1921-1922); and manuscript materials (undated). The collection contains slides, prints, negatives, moving images (video and film) correspondence and small paintings. Most of the materials inculded deal with the activities of Enid Nordlund and her associates in the Monte Cristo area.

Scope and Contents From the File:

The collection primarily consists of photographs of ships which Willamette Iron and Steel Company either built or worked on from World War II to the 1960s, collected by long-time employee JosephMeyers. Also included are aerial photographs of the company's site, photographs of parts and equipment manufactured by the company, promotional materials, and programs for ship launchings and sea trials.
